A long long time ago I had digitised maps of forest zones of South India during my internship. Ever since, I have been wanting to explore these forests.
Last weekend I made a quick trip with Katrivia Expeditions to Bandipur Tiger Reserve with their team lead Arvind Karthik. Link to explore and book – https://katrivia.com/
It was a highly immersive experience which included 4 safaris into the forest and also workshops on Bandipur biodiversity – big five animals, their territorial disputes, family trees and wildlife photography. We spotted four of the big five – leopard, tiger, bison, elephant apart from wild dogs, barking deer, sambhar, deer and birds. Of course, there were lovely trees of the deciduous forests..
It was a memorable experience. Unlike Corbett, safaris were not chasing the tigers aggressively or disturbing the jungle with noise.
Ironically, I couldn’t use my Nikon DSLR but here are a few one plus mobile clicks of the trip…
