I went to Lepakshi last month after discovering a photograph taken by my Nana. I am a bit sceptical about visiting temple towns but this one turned out to be very different. The etymology of its name is – Le Pakshi – named after the mythological bird Jatayu which according to the legend got injured and fell here.

It is a lovely quaint old town. The temple architecture and art is simply stunning.
